Volunteering with The Yard
Our volunteers play a crucial role in making a difference. From assisting in our Adventure Play centres, supporting events, and helping with fundraising activities, to providing valuable support in our office, your contributions are vital.
As a volunteer with us, you’ll receive a comprehensive induction and all the training you need to thrive in your role. You’ll be assigned a dedicated contact person and have the opportunity to join volunteer events, connect with our team, and meet other volunteers. We’ll keep you informed about new opportunities and how your support is positively impacting the lives of children and families.
As a volunteer you could support us in the following roles –
Play
Support our play team with setting up activities, supporting play experiences, and helping with clean-up.
Events
Could you help us set-up events, and be there to support visitors, staff and fundraisers? Take a look at our upcoming events and let us know where you would like to support us.
Maintenance
If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, our maintenance team needs you! You’ll help keep The Yard beautiful for all who come through our doors. Tasks may include painting, cleaning, and organising.
Bike Maintenance
Are you good with a bike pump? Help us maintain our fleet of bikes, trikes, and go-karts by fixing punctures, greasing chains and making sure our bikes are ready to ride.
Office Support
Are you a dab hand at administrative tasks? You could help us around the office with tasks such as checking in members, setting up play sessions, filing, and answering phones. Your support will help keep our operations running smoothly.
Share your skills
Have a specific skill or expertise? Whether it’s photography, video production, digital support, or another talent, we’d love to hear how you can contribute to our projects.
