About Celine
Celine has been the Chief Executive of The Yard since 2006, leading with exceptional dynamism and passion. Her journey with The Yard began on our Board of Directors before she stepped into the Chief Executive role—Celine advocates for disability interests across various committees and networks.
Before joining The Yard, Celine’s career began at the BBC World Service, and she later pursued an MSc in Public Relations. Her experience in communications for Highlands and Islands Enterprise and YouthLink Scotland has been instrumental in her role as Chief Executive. Celine has been pivotal in expanding our services, ensuring that we meet the needs of our users, and enhancing their outcomes. Her influence has also significantly contributed to the growth and diversity of our Board.
Recognized for her influence in local and national strategic thinking, Celine was awarded Leading Light at the SCVO Scottish Charity Awards in 2017, and in 2018, she received the Director of the Year accolade from the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the IoD Scotland. She also contributed a chapter on inclusion to the 2017 publication Working for Equality: Policy, Politics, People.
